For years I have dreamed of spending the holiday season somewhere on the Greek islands. There is something so uniquely special about this chain of islands, and the water is such a deep blue that you will never forget it. If you’re planning to hit the Greek Islands for your next vacation, here’s where you should go and what you should do. This will be the trip of a lifetime!
Greek Islands Vacation Destinations
With so many islands, it can be tricky to decide which one you want to head to. Fortunately, these five islands are worth a spot on ANYONE’s list.
Mykonos: If you love nightlife, Mykonos is the destination for you. Full of beach clubs, night clubs, and tons of nightlife, you are sure to have an incredible experience. You might even run into Lindsay Lohan while you’re here…and if you’re lucky she might give you dance lessons.
Santorini: You can’t head to Greece without spending a few days in Santorini. With gorgeous views, this destination is perfect for anyone who likes a little adventure. They have insanely beautiful hikes here!
Naxos: Head here if you want to immerse yourself in the local culture. This island has some of the most gorgeous beaches in the region and there are tons of tasty restaurants that serve the local fare.
Greek Island Vacations Honeymoons
There isn’t a destination on Earth more romantic than Greece, so why not celebrate your new life with your spouse here? Plan to spend a minimum of 10 days in the region so you can mix recreation with relaxation. I recommend starting in Santorini, as it is known as the “honeymoon isle.” Stay in the Liostasi Hotel for views that you will never forget. You’ll go home with such amazing photographs.
Greek Island Vacations Bucket List
Now that you’ve nailed down which islands you’re going to be exploring, here are a few things you should absolutely add to your Greece bucket list. These activities may just make your vacation!
Climb Mount Olympus: This mountain is one of the most famous in all of Greece. Climb to the top and you may just run into Zeus.
Visit The Delphi: One of the most photographed places in Greece, this ancient architecture is one of the most recognizable places in the world.
Melissani Cave: This massive cave can be explored by boat, and after you spend some time cruising through the dark passageways, you’ll come across an incredible lake in the middle of the cave. This is truly an unforgettable experience!
