My brother and his wife are taking a trip to the Caribbean this Christmas and I offered to help them plan out their trip. They’re incredibly excited about their trip, and I can’t wait for them to explore the beautiful islands of the Caribbean. If you’re planning a trip to this beautiful region of the world, there are a few things you should know. For example, it’s best to plan to visit multiple islands. I’ve found that it’s the best way to get the most of your experience. Check out this awesome list of beautiful but underrated islands in the Caribbean.
Located in the Eastern Caribbean, St. Lucia is a lush island that you absolutely will never forget. It’s home to a gorgeous mountain range and miles of scenic beaches. Not only is St. Lucia an incredible place to go reef diving, but it’s a great place for hiking too! Check out the Enbas Saut Waterfall trail.
I’m not going to lie. I’ve been known to watch the weekly episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. It’s my guilty pleasure, I just can’t help it! When they visited the islands during a recent episode, I was so taken aback by the beauty of the landscape that I had to add it to their itinerary. It’s also a great place to scuba dive, seeing as the chain of islands sit on reefs. Be sure to see the underwater wall just off the coast of Grand Turks.
Due to the direction of the trade winds, Saba is a little less lush than some of the other islands. But it’s still beautiful. Saba is one of the lesser-known destinations, and because of this, the island has been virtually untouched by commercialism. This is the perfect place if you truly just want to get away from it all
Antigua has a total of 365 beaches, so you can visit a new one every day of your vacation. Again, this island is great for snorkeling and scuba diving. It’s also one of the best in the region for sailing, thanks to its year-round windy weather. You’ll never forget the deep blue of these gorgeous waters.
Aruba is a tiny Dutch island that has tons of beaches and a few popular resorts. This island is one of the more touristy locations on this list, but it is my favorite island of the group so I could not resist. The island is also known for its pastel homes lining the coastline. I’d just love to move here!
