Tinted mason jars are my favorite thing to decorate with in my coastal home. The blue tint makes the mason jar look like it came straight out of the ocean! You can purchase your mason jars already tinted, but those are miles more expensive than the regular mason jars. Here are the materials you will need to conquer this project, yourself!
-Blue food coloring
-glue
– mixing bowl
Step One: Add a tablespoon of water to your mixing bowls, and add AT LEAST twenty drops of blue food coloring. Anything less than blue will not show up on the glass. Depending on the shade of blue desired, add more (or less) food coloring.
Step Two: Next, pour a tablespoon of glue into the inside of your mason jar. Pour in your food coloring. Cover the mouth of the jar, and coat the insides of your jars with the glue/food coloring mixture.
Step Three: After you coat the inside of your jar, turn it upside down and let it sit just like that for ten minutes, pouring out any of the excess glue mixture (you can always reuse it!) While it’s sitting upside down, preheat your oven to 200 degrees fahrenheit.
Step Four: Line a cookie sheet with wax paper, and place the upside-down mason jars on the sheet. Place in the oven for fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes have passed, turn your jars upright and bake again for an additional fifteen minutes.
And that’s it! Your mason jars are tinted, ready to use, and simply gorgeous.
